Sara Hernández, born in 1993 in Medellín, Colombia, is currently based in Stuttgart, Germany. Her artistic practice encompasses expanded drawing, sculpture, and installation. She is interested in playful and subversive ways of working with images, objects, and materials, often shifting them from their original contexts to create new associations and narratives.
Drawing serves as an important starting point in her practice, which she explores beyond the boundaries of paper and traditional techniques, extending it into space, objects, and installations. Through processes of translation, modification, and displacement, she questions familiar forms and everyday subjects, creating situations that invite alternative ways of looking and perceiving.
Her practice also includes collaborations with other artists, including Santiago Betancur Valencia and David Tobón.
